This week my dad turned 50 and it has been so special in many ways.
Before the big day arrived, I decided to create a montage of photographs from the last 50 years of his life. I always think photographs make fantastic gifts, so I got to work dusting off very old albums and picking out some of my favourites.
It was so surreal looking at old forgotten photographs, and reminded me just how precious they are in helping us to remember moments we may have otherwise forgotten about (or been too young to remember).
This photograph made me ponder like no other photograph has before. Look how tiny I am! It’s so difficult to think of myself as an innocent baby, entering the world not knowing what was ahead of me. Sometimes I think it would be so lovely to be able to start a fresh, but now I know what the first 23 years had in store for me.
My quote for today came from a random find on twitter. I think it’s something people can really relate to. No matter how tough life wants to be, it throws us lessons. I'm a strong believer in that everything does happen for a reason, no matter how much it doesn’t feel like it at the time.
Take advice from elders, believe in yourself for the now and teach those who are yet to make it as far as you.
